This Privacy Policy describes how Rock Creek Crates ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your Personal Information when you visit or make a purchase from rockcreekcrates.com (the "Site"), and when you use the Rock Creek Training mobile application (the "App"). Together, the Site and the App are referred to as our "Services."

Collecting Personal Information

When you use our Services, we collect certain information about your device, your interactions, and information necessary to process your purchases or provide app features. We may also collect additional information if you contact us for customer support. In this Privacy Policy, we refer to any information that can uniquely identify an individual as "Personal Information."

Website — Information We Collect

Device information

  • Examples of Personal Information collected: version of web browser, IP address, time zone, cookie information, what sites or products you view, search terms, and how you interact with the Site.
  • Purpose of collection: to load the Site accurately for you, and to perform analytics on Site usage to optimize our Site.
  • Source of collection: Collected automatically when you access our Site using cookies, log files, web beacons, tags, or pixels.
  • Disclosure for a business purpose: shared with our processor Shopify.

Order information

  • Examples of Personal Information collected: name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers), email address, and phone number.
  • Purpose of collection: to provide products or services to you to fulfill our contract, to process your payment information, arrange for shipping, and provide you with invoices and/or order confirmations, communicate with you, screen our orders for potential risk or fraud, and when in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
  • Source of collection: collected from you.
  • Disclosure for a business purpose: shared with our processor Shopify, payment gateways, and shipping and fulfillment carriers.

Customer support information

  • Purpose of collection: to provide customer support.
  • Source of collection: collected from you.

Rock Creek Training App — Information We Collect

The Rock Creek Training app does not require you to create an account. The following describes the limited information collected when you use the App.

Owner code redemption

  • Examples of Personal Information collected: the owner code you enter and your device's IP address at the time of redemption.
  • Purpose of collection: to verify that your code is valid and to activate your 30-day Pro trial.
  • Source of collection: collected from you when you enter a code in the App.
  • Disclosure for a business purpose: validated against our own secure server; not shared with third parties.

In-app purchase information

  • Examples of Personal Information collected: purchase receipt, transaction identifiers, and entitlement status.
  • Purpose of collection: to verify your purchase and unlock Pro features.
  • Source of collection: provided by Apple (App Store) at the time of purchase.

Crate Confidence Journal entries

  • Examples of Personal Information collected: journal notes and progress logs you create within the App.
  • Purpose of collection: to display your past entries to you within the App.
  • Source of collection: collected from you when you write a journal entry.
  • Disclosure for a business purpose: stored on our secure server and not shared with third parties.

Push notification preferences

  • Examples of Personal Information collected: device push token.
  • Purpose of collection: to send you optional training reminders if you choose to enable notifications.
  • Source of collection: provided by your device's operating system if you grant notification permission.
  • Disclosure for a business purpose: not shared with third parties.

App usage information

  • Examples of Personal Information collected: general app usage patterns (e.g., which features are used), device type, and operating system version.
  • Purpose of collection: to understand how the App is used and to improve the experience.
  • Source of collection: collected automatically when you use the App.
  • Disclosure for a business purpose: may be shared with analytics providers in aggregate, non-identifiable form.

Minors

Our Services are not intended for individuals under the age of 14. We do not intentionally collect Personal Information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us at the address below to request deletion.

Sharing Personal Information

We share your Personal Information with service providers to help us provide our Services and fulfill our contracts with you, as described above. For example:

  • We use Apple to process all in-app purchases. Payments are handled entirely by Apple and are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy.
  • We may share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Behavioural Advertising

As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. For example:

The Rock Creek Training mobile app does not display third-party advertising.

Using Personal Information

We use your Personal Information to provide our Services to you, which includes: offering products for sale, processing payments, shipping and fulfillment of your order, verifying in-app purchases, delivering app features such as the Crate Confidence Journal, and keeping you up to date on new products, services, and offers.

Retention

When you place an order through the Site, we will retain your Personal Information for our records unless and until you ask us to erase this information. Journal entries and other App data stored on our server will be retained until you request deletion. For more information on your right of erasure, please see the "Your Rights" section below.

Automatic Decision-Making

If you are a resident of the EEA, you have the right to object to processing based solely on automated decision-making (which includes profiling), when that decision-making has a legal effect on you or otherwise significantly affects you.

We DO NOT engage in fully automated decision-making that has a legal or otherwise significant effect using customer data.

Our processor Shopify uses limited automated decision-making to prevent fraud that does not have a legal or otherwise significant effect on you:

  • Temporary denylist of IP addresses associated with repeated failed transactions. This denylist persists for a small number of hours.
  • Temporary denylist of credit cards associated with denylisted IP addresses. This denylist persists for a small number of days.

A cookie is a small amount of information that's downloaded to your computer or device when you visit our Site. We use a number of different cookies, including functional, performance, advertising, and social media or content cookies. Cookies make your browsing experience better by allowing the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login and region selection).

SMS Privacy

Rock Creek Crates collects phone numbers by way of a voluntary opt-in form to be used for marketing purposes. Marketing includes communicating promotions, deals, discounts, and events. The data collected will remain inside the Klaviyo platform. Data will not be used, sold, or shared for any other purpose than what is described here. Subscribers can opt-out at any time by replying "STOP."

Your Rights

Where applicable under local law, you may have the right to access the Personal Information we hold about you, to request correction, deletion, or restriction of how we use it, and to request a portable copy of your data. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the bottom of this page when changes are made.
